PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker Returns For 2012

On May 6th 2012, the PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker returns for another series – and this time it’s bigger and better than ever. There will be a total of 120 poker tournaments spread across three buy in ranges, and SCOOP hosts PokerStars are guaranteeing a minimum of $30,000,000 in prize money.

Kicking off on May 6th and lasting until May 20th, the PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker will feature 40 different poker tournaments, each with three different buy in ranges: Low, Medium (ten times the low stake) and High (100 times the low stake).

With the different buy in ranges and every poker game imaginable represented – from No Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha, to Badugi and Triple Stud – SCOOP really does offer something for every poker player. And with a massive $30,000,000 guaranteed to be won, you’d be mad to miss out.

SCOOP 2012 will feature three individual “Player of the Series” leader boards – one for each buy in range – with the eventual winners receiving a trophy and a 2013 PokerStars Caribbean Adventurepackage. Whoever tops the outright leader board will also win a trophy, as well as a PokerStars EUropean Poker Tour Grand Final package.

Team PokerStars Online pro Anders Berg bagged the “SCOOP Player of the Series” crown last time out and he can’t wait to defend his title in 2012: “SCOOP is always one of the highlights of the online poker calendar and I’ll be aiming to defend my Player of the Series title by playing as many events as possible.”

“The tournament structures are excellent, the range of games unrivalled – it’s going to be an epic tournament series for me and many other players in May,” continued Berg.

SCOOP 2012 will culminate in the three No Limit Hold’em Main Events on May 20th, with buy ins of $100 + $9, $1,000 + $50 and $10,000 + $30. PokerStars has guaranteed prize money of $1,000,000, $1,500,000 and $2,500,000 for each of the Main Events and last year, the High Stakes SCOOP Main Event was landed by Finnish Poker Pro Sami Kelopuro, who collected $504,691.09 for his efforts.
