First there was Rush Poker, then Zoom Poker and now comes iPoker’s offering to fans of the fast-fold poker craze started by Full Tilt Poker – Speed Hold’em. It promises to be “the world’s fastest online poker format” and will be rolled out in full over the coming weeks, though Bet365 Poker already have a beta version of the new game.
Like other fast-fold poker formats, Speed Hold’em gives players the ability to join a large pool of players and play at different tables, meaning that once you are done with a hand, you can be whisked off to play against different opponents in a bid to keep the poker action flowing. If you don’t like your hand, there’s no need to stick around!
The fast paced nature of Speed Hold’em allows players to cram in up to four times as many hands, which not only keeps boredom at bay, but is also great for clearing a deposit bonus. The software is designed to feel streamlined, so that the player is hardly even aware that they have moved to a different table – iPoker are promising a sleek and speedy experience.
Where Speed Hold’em differs from other fast-fold poker games such as Zoom Poker or Microgaming’s Blaze Poker, is that players are able to join the same pool up to ten times and iPoker promises no waiting lists for Speed Hold’em.
Speed Hold’em has already debuted in Beta as “Sprint Poker” at Bet365 Poker, a popular iPoker skin in the UK. The soft launch contains micro stakes Hold’em games only, but plans have been announced for Pot Limit Omaha and a range of different stakes in future, should the game prove successful.
